Hi Leow, I made the same transition over several years. Be prepared to be constantly pigeon-holed as a visual designer because of your background – but also because many people’s perception UX is extremely blurred with UI design.

I think youve definitely got the right attitude to stakeholders and collaboration. It’s far more difficult to commoditise that, and I also didn’t find UI design to be a sustainable career choice that brought me happiness. UX on the other hand is extremely rewarding.
